Taking the next step, this intensive workshop covers many intermediate tools and advanced tips and tricks, including: o Using channels and masks for selections and image editing o Making and refining layer masks for compositing and image editing o Retouching methods and use of layer blending modes o Effective methods for local controls, such as burning and dodging o Using Smart filters and Smart objects o Sharpening and lens blur o Advanced color and tonal correction o Soft proofing, and the optimum preparation of images for print or web o Prerequisite: a sound, basic knowledge of Photoshop or completion of the PNM Introductory class.
David Ulrich is a photographer and writer whose work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions. His work combines traditional photography with digital imaging. Ulrich has taught digital applications for Pacific Imaging Center, Kodak's Center for Creative Imaging, New York University, and others. For 15 years, he was an associate professor and served as the chair of the photography department at The Art Institute of Boston. He is a core faculty member of Pacific New Media and is the chair of the visual arts department at Cornish College in Seattle.
