Social media is changing the web, the world we live in, and the way we connect and communicate, personally and professionally. From blogs and Facebook to Flickr and Twitter, the proliferation of thousands of "social media" websites and applications is enough to overwhelm even a savvy web user. This course provides an overview of the social media landscape and insights into how social networking, cloud computing, and web 2.0 applications can be used by individuals and businesses to drive awareness and customer dialog. Course participants learn how to evaluate social media sites, build their own social network, set up a blog, establish profiles on various social media sites, and interconnect these to streamline communication.
