Confirmation

If you do not receive a confirmation receipt within 7 days or if you enroll less than 5 working days prior to the start of the course, call 956-8400 to verify enrollment and to find out whether the class will be held as announced.

Wait List Policy

Most courses have limited enrollment. Registration for noncredit courses is ongoing and is processed on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to be placed on a waiting list, you must register and pay the course fee. Payment of the course fee does not guarantee enrollment in the course. If a space in the course does not become available, the payment will be refunded. Click here for details on Courses and Instructors.

Financial Liability Policy

Enrollment at the University of Hawai‘i signifies consent to, and acceptance of all policies and procedures governing enrollment, including financial liability. Students who fail to remit payment when due, agree to pay the University of Hawai‘i all reasonable costs for collection, to include collection agency, attorney's and court fees.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy

You receive a full refund if your request is received by 12 noon two working days before the first class meeting, unless otherwise specified.

Withdrawal/refund requests are made by phone (956-8400), in person, or by writing to Outreach College (postmarked by the refund deadline). Faxed or mailed withdrawal requests must include the student's signature.

Failure to attend class or notifying your instructor of your intent to withdraw does not constitute an official withdrawal from the course.

Agencies submitting purchase orders for student registration fees will be billed regardless of attendance, unless notification of withdrawal is made by the specified refund deadline.

Refunds for check and cash payments are mailed and refunds for charge payments are credited to the account originally charged. Refunds may take 4 to 6 weeks to process.

If you have a question regarding the status of your refund, call the Outreach College business office at 956-5899.

Cancellation Policy

Outreach College reserves the right to cancel a course with insufficient enrollment. The University of Hawai‘i and Outreach College are not responsible for any cancellation or change charges assessed by airlines and travel agencies.

Student Code of Conduct

Students enrolled in noncredit and credit classes at Outreach College are expected to abide by the University of Hawai‘i rules, regulations, and student code of conduct. For more information, refer to the university's student conduct webpage, or see UH-Manoa Policies and Procedures.

Textbooks
Textbooks included in the course fee are distributed during the first class session. If you need to purchase a textbook that is required or recommended for your class, the "plus textbook" or "textbook optional" notation is included in the course information. Find your books in a special Outreach College "Non-credit" section at the University Bookstore.

Parking
Outreach College participants may park on the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa campus on a space-available basis. A $3 fee is charged Monday through Saturday (day and evening).

Before 4:00pm on weekdays, Outreach participants may park in designated visitor parking areas, which include nearly 2,000 spaces in the Lower Campus Parking Structure. During weekday evenings, participants may park in any marked stalls on campus (with the exception of handicap stalls, reserved stalls, and Student Housing lots). Please be aware that there is a $20 change limit at the entrance to campus lots. Click here for campus parking maps.

Certificates of Completion

Many Outreach College non-credit courses qualify for professional continuing education units. Certificates of completion denoting the number of contact hours (instructional hours) can be given to those students whose instructors, upon completion of the course, verify in writing that the student attended at least 80% of the class sessions. Inform your instructor on the first day of class if you are interested in receiving a certificate. Students may submit these certificates to their respective professional organizations for review and granting of continuing education units.
